Local Walks

A selection of walks in the local area which have been planned to explore interesting aspects of the area’s landscape heritage, scenic beauty and social history.

These walks are presented in pdf format. Please click on the walk title ie: ‘walk 1’ to open it in pdf reader, then you can view the file and print it out for your walk. If you do not have Adobe pdf reader installed you will be prompted to install it. We suggest you do so as this is a very popular and useful free program.

Although every effort has been made to make the maps accurate to the walk presented, we recommend that you also take with you the Ordnance Survey map relevant to the area of the walk. For walks in the Bridge area this is usually OS Explorer Map 150 or sometimes 138 which covers further south than Pett Bottom and Kingston.

Thanks for your comments Chris. We have now updated Walk 1 to include your corrections.

Did Walk 1 on 07/05/16 and enjoyed it thoroughly; directions excellent. There are some changes in Parts 3 and 4. It looks as if the gate at the end of Part 3 has become two. When entering the ‘field of fruit trees’ in Part 4 there are none but the track between the ex-trees is still fairly obvious. In Part 6 ‘Where the lane stops, go through the gate’, there is no gate now.

Many thanks to all involved for creating these walks. We’ll certainly try more of them.
