The storms of the last few days have brought down trees right across the area. Ironically the winds in these storms appear to have caused far more problems and damage in Kent than the ‘major event’ storm last month. Winds on The 23th and 24th of December were particularly bad with gusts of up to 65mph inland and 75 mph on the coast. Along with the intense winds the storms brought a relentless onslaught of heavy rain and hail.
The picture shows trees down on Christmas Day on Bourne Park Road outside the entrance to Bridge Country Club. It is likely that the trees actually fell on Christmas Eve along with others which toppled into the lake at Bourne Park.
